I had booked a car for rent on Sept 2013 believing rentalcars' "No
cancellation and amendment fees" claim. Due to an emergency, I had to
cancel it immediately after I booked the car. I did not read the detailed
terms and conditions, which stated that if the booking is cancelled within
24 hours of pick up time, there will not be any refunds, and booking
amount upto 3 booking days will be withheld.
Since I cancelled and the acknowledgment email of the cancellation
mentioned that I will get my refund within 7 working days. However, I did
not received any refund in 7 days. I enquired, they mentioned about the
detailed 'Terms and Conditions' and told me that no refund is applicable.
I was shocked to hear it.
However, I wrote their support center and talked to one generous lady Ms
Anna Piech. She was very supportive and patiently heard my case and the
full booking amount was refunded. I appreciate her customer focus and
understanding of company's good will.
Though the customer service is good, I will recommend that you be clear of
the Terms and Conditions before booking/cancellation.
Overall, it was a good experience with rentalcars.
