I booked 2 nights in Rome for two adults through Groupon at a cost of £318. The travel agent was KPX Travel. I had to speak to KPX Travel direct to book the flights and accommadtion. I was informed that the date I originally wanted to travel was unavailable so I had to pick another date. I was then told if we stuck to the original flight times we would have only one full day in Rome and I was encouraged to paid £76.00 for better flight times. I paid the extra £76.00 on my debit card and was told I would receive my booking confirmation within 24 hours. After 48 hours no booking confirmation had arrived so I tried to call them on three occasions on Monday 12th November. On all three occasions I was told that there was no one available to take my call and that someone would call back – this never happened.
On Friday 9th November I decided to make one last ditch effort to contact KPX Travel to try and resolve this issue. After I informed them I would be making a formal complaint to ABTA and Watchdog I have now finally received my booking confirmation (over a week after they assured me it would arrive within 24 hours). No one at KPX Travel was willing to explain why I had to make four phone calls and threaten to take action against them in order to receive my booking confirmation.
I will NEVER use this company again, or Groupon, who washed their hands of all responsibly. Lets just hope my 2 days in Rome is more enjoyable than my first, and last encounter with KPX Travel!
