I'm self employed, and I don't always have as much work coming in as I would like. I hate killing time online on forums and social networking sites - I like to feel like I'm actually doing something online. Surveys and paid review sites are a great way to pass the time, and earn a few pounds at the same time. The problem is that a lot of sites are fake.
Some sites waste several minutes of your time and then screen you out of surveys - effectively taking all your personal info for no reward. Some sites promise huge rewards, but then never have enough surveys available for you to claim them. Even the sites that do pay out can sometimes flood your inbox with spam.
SurveyCompare is a site devoted to helping you find the good survey and review sites in amongst the scammers. It has a lot of articles and information (some of which will be obvious to veterans, but it's always nice to be reminded), and a good list of survey companies. It's not exhaustive, yet, but they are adding more survey sites to the listing, and it's definitely a good place to look before spending time on a new survey site.
