The only pro of booking with Expedia is that it's easy to use its search to find options that suit you and filter them according to your prefereces.
But once you find a decent deal, the best thing to do is to see if you can find that or a similar deal on another site.
Because, after that, your use of Expedia is extremely likely to go downhill.
Don't think of calling them, asking any questions, needing any explanations, making any changes to your travel plans whatsoever, making a valid claim or requesting a valid refund. Otherwise, be prepared for a nightmare.
- Extremely poor customer service
- High rate telephone calls & faulty telephones
- Advisers are not very knowledgeable
- A real hassle
- A dodgy complaints service - does not deal with complaints, claims or refund requests by telephone but rather requires you to send them to some dodgy email address...
- Rarely responds to emails to its dodgy customer service email address.
I've been burnt on two consecutive trips by Expedia to the tune of hundreds of pounds of telephone calls and stress at each end of both holidays.
Overall: Poor. Will avoid going forward. Only use for viewing, not booking.
