I got a great deal from Glasses Direct. Perhaps a little too good as they didn't want to sell me any glasses in the end.
I order from the internet because it fast, convenient and cheaper. Glasses Direct were definitely cheaper but certainly not fast or convenient. I have ordered before from Lensway and was very happy with their quick, no fuss service and I expected the same from Glasses Direct. How wrong was I!
The emailed me to tell me that they needed to speak to me about my prescription. I duly rang them back but the flat out refused to talk to me unless I had my prescription in front of me, even though I knew my prescription inside out and matched what I had input onto their system. I then rang them back with my prescription in front of me and we confirmed all the information on there. They then wanted to talk about my PD (pupillary distance). They asked how I had obtained my PD and I told them it was from the optician. They then told me that it was 'rather big' and I would have to be examined by them! Then the only optioned offered was refund. I get the feeling that they didn't want to honour the fantastic offer I got thru MSE and Quidco as they presented a problem at every turn.
I will be sticking to Lensway in the future, their service is fast and convenient
