“kafkaesque customer services”

Ordered a pair of sandals and was sent a completely different pair from what I oredered. I tried to contact customer services by email to resolve the problem. Received no response. Tried again a few days later by email. Again no response. Tried a third time and still no response. According to their website their item can be returned to an address they give, however they charge postage which they say the do not refund. As they sent the wrong item I didn't feel I should be liable for postage. On their customer service page it says contact us for details of a freepost address. I had tried this three times and not received a response. I eventually found a 0844 number to call them (at great cost to my phone bill). I called and was mechanically told I was 12th in a queue. I reluctantly waited and after a considerable amount of time I went down to eigth in the queue. Then after a further 5 minutes I was told that my position had now slipped to ninth. Somewhat confused i decided to terminate the call before I climbed alll the way back up to my original 12th position. Where I go from here I do not know, maybe trading standards. If you want to gamble with your money, be treated with contempt, spend pointless hours trying to resolve any problems by all means use them. If you value your money time and sanity then avoidat all costs. I really cannot un-reccomend them enough and was a little miffed that I had to give them 1 star. There should be a negative star option available. Wish me luck as I continue to smash my head against the wall of what is their impenetrable customer services. Josef K had it easy.
