I bought a product in Comet and the following weekend I took it back because it did not work as described. Besides this, it was a product for my Grandad who spent £160. They were simply not interested in listening to why it was faulty and why it was not as described. They were more concerned that the box had been opened. How do you know if something is faulty without opening the box. They said they would have to take it in for testing and would not provide a refund there and then. I simply cannot believe they are getting away with this!
After complaining in the store I waited until finally speaking to the store manager who pitifully pointed to some small print attached to the receipt, stating there would be no refunds after 3 days or if the box had been opened.
After complaining to their customer services email address, I was given exactly the same response. 'There is nothing we can do, the box has been opened. We are sorry for any convenience caused.' They even contacted the original store manager, who I had already spoken to, which just sent the process round in a loop. They will blindly defend their inferior products and churn out their apologetic response, rigidly sticking to their pathetic returns policy without consideration for the poor customer who has spent money in good faith.
