COMET shouldn't be allowed to trade..in high street shops or online!!! They continuously break the law and regulations and their telephone support is nothing short of intentionally insulting!
Their telesales staff are trained to be aggressive, abusive and unhelpful ... which is to stop you phoning again!! Even when we were purchasing the item (which was very expensive) they were rude and aggressive!!
We purchased a Television via telephone..it arrived a week later and it was damaged..the TV also didn't live up to our expectations so after 2 days we asked to send it back...what did they say? ''YOU CAN'T SEND IT BACK BECAUSE IT IS OPEN''
Ah..now that is against the law which comes under the Distance Selling Regulations..which lawfully protects the customer for 7 days of which they are free to send the goods back if they are not satisfactory, which it wasn't...
So after many emails confirming the law..numerous phone calls to the Trading Standards they still wouldn't have the television back on the Distance Selling Regulations (DSR's) and would only have the television back on the grounds of it being 'faulty' which they would repair in their workshop.
THIS IS AGAINST THE LAW as we purchased the TV via telephone (Distance Selling) and they refused because of their Terms and Conditions..I'm sorry but Comet's terms and conditions or any other companies are NOT ABOVE THE LAW!!!
After confirming all of the above with the Trading Standards we sent another 2 emails. After Comet read the Distance Selling Regulation act and after our continuous emails they agreed to refund the item...
So...they agree to refund the item - and they do..but then now what?
We are getting bombarded with phone calls from their company called Oncall saying they want to return the TV to us! They even came last Saturday to return it and we declined it..but they made us sign for it..
Now they are saying we have the TV and have their property without paying!!
ONCALL CAME TO OUR DOOR WITH THE TV..WE DECLINED IT AND THEY MADE US SIGN FOR IT!!! Now Oncall have the TV and they're saying we have it!!
As you can see COMET just can't manage their business..there is no other way to say this but they should be shut down..
Either way DO NOT ever shop with comet..they have no customer regard and they just care about selling..and never have I come across a company where ALL their telesales staff and abusive..they even cut me off when it was to discuss a refund.
