“Stuck in haedphone/dock mode”

As per thousands of others my iphone4 speakers will only work as a ringer or making calls - there is no volume for music, youtube and the majority of other apps. Basically it behaves as if the headphones were plugged in even though they are not. It is a common problem due to an unfixable bug in the system files.
The other major problem is the 4 over-sensitive water detectors. Once triggered these sensors turn red/pink and invalidate the warranty. The problem is they are so sensitive that merely placing the phone near a steaming hot cup of tea will trigger them. So when you inevitably try to return the phone to fix the no sound issue you will face paying a repair bill of over £100.
Total rip off.
