We purchased a Panasonic vacuum cleaner from our local Comet store in Stoke-on-Trent, but only a couple of months later, the motor blew up, giving me an electric shock in the process. We took it back to the store, and couldn't believe the disgraceful way we were treated by the Customer Service assistant, and the store manager. We were told that it was our fault that the motor had blown, because we hadn't cleaned the filter, the filter had been cleaned only days before, but it was clear that they were trying anything to try and dissuade us from taking the complaint any further! We stood our ground, and finally, after about half an hour of standing our ground and reiterating our consumer rights, they finally relented and agreed to send it back to Panasonic for them to have a look at. Nearly a month on, and we are still waiting to hear anything! Please, avoid this store at all costs, just type Comet, poor customer service in to Google and you will be amazed how many people have received the same shoddy, poor service. In other words, once they've taken your hard earned cash, they don't want to know!
