This is the short version of the story;
My boyfriend bought a Groupon voucher for my birthday, which was 3 nights in Venice via Clear Sky Holidays, who are part of Jetline Travel.
One minute there was availability, then the next there wasn’t, but then there was again on the unavailable flights, if I sat on someone’s lap!
After a while of the first travel consultant being rude and unhelpful, I spoke to his manager who was just as rude, if not ruder. He informed me that it was too late and that I had to ring a number to book, even though the voucher said do it on line. He seemed surprised that I used Google to find their number! It was adamant that there was a number on there even though I read it out to him and it clearly says do it online! He then told me it was all sold out and there was no availability, even though I had a Groupon voucher. Then he started to try and find flights…..
They were trying to charge us extra but couldn’t really keep their story straight as to what we were paying extra for.
Even though we specified Gatwick they said we could fly from Stanstead. Gatwick is too far as it is, let alone Stanstead and they asked if we wanted to change hotels, not sure of the reason but it wasn’t because of lack of availability.
When my boyfriend called up, we were actually getting somewhere. However, he was given different flights that weren’t available when I called earlier that day. He then questioned the travel consultant as to why we were paying extra. The consultant started shouting down the phone and then said he was going to hang up and did so.
We never had chance to book it in the end. Luckily Groupon have been understanding and have given us a full refund.
I would avoid using Clear Sky/Jetline. They are extremely rude and incompetent of doing their jobs.
