I was looking for a rental with full insurance, not a CDW with a $500+ excess. All it takes is some idiot to scratch a rental and you are hundreds out of pocket. Or one windscreen chip and someone decides you nedd a new screen. Easyrent - sorry, - Easirent is one of two companies I found who offered a fully-insured option, and the only airport-based one. The other was in central Wolverhampton, some 20 miles away, and allowed 'fair wear & tear'. I went onto Easirent's website and found 'live chat' which was exactly what it said....
Foreign license ? No problem, sir.
3 days notice...let's check...yes, we have a car.
How do I book ? I can do it now for you, over live chat......
My name is Matt and my number and email are......
The office was open Monday 7am and the car was ready. I did my usual search for scratches and chips and was reassured.....no need..you took out the extra 'piece of mind' insurance.....
The automatic Yaris was 5 months old and drove well. The system of half a tank and bring it back empty worked. By being based with 'Airparks', there was 24 hour access for returning the car and I dropped it at 5-30am in a designated and secure area, with a secure key drop.
I will use Easirent again. I had no problems. If your priority is not being ripped off by the big boys who overcharge you for a paintchip, this is your company. They want to rent you a car, not squeeze you for as much as they can. The up-front price isn't the lowest, but what price peace of mind? If I'd had one scratch or chip ( I didn't), it would have been the lowest. Perhaps this isn't a consideration if your business pays for your rental but for a private motorist on vacation, it is the #1 consideration.I gave 5 stars for value because of this.
