“Excellent value weekend stay at Alexandra House Swindon”

Needed a quiet clean and inexpensive hotel for a Saturday night in Wilts.
Our best deal on internet was £71 which was better than some 2* B&Bs.
Didin't fancy noisy Reading or Swindon centres with no off street parking. Alexandra House was in 20 acres of lawn down some quiet roads with big easy & free off street parking.

Reception staff really super efficient, friendly and helpful, we asked for a quiet room at the desk with them, but it was a bit dull with blocked light from adjoining buildings within the hotel courtyard. The staff immediately sorted it out and we enjoyed room 265 which was light,clean with decent but small bath and shower etc & comfortable bed. Breakfast was plentiful. It's a conference hotel but don't let that put you off...it was better service than we've had in hotels twice the price.

My partner used the pool and hotel computer (free), there's also a free gym and sauna too, big public rooms and big dining room at breakfast.

A really nice stop-over.
