We booked with travel republic very early on in the year for lovely accommadation in Cavtat, Croatia for our Silver Wedding anniversary. We had confirmation etc of booking and reference numbers. We alos booked out airport transfers through them about 2 days before we flew. On arrival at Dubrovnik Airport, we were told our driver would be with us in about 10 mins as he was running late, which was fine. When the driver turned up and put our cases in the boot, he got a phone call after which he took our cases out of the boot and told us to go back inside the airport. We seen the rep from Travel Republic there and told us he was the wrong driver and our driver would be along shortly. Our other driver turned up and dropped us off at what we thought were our apartments. When we were shown to our room, I didn't recognise them from the pictures we had seen and had no sea view or kitchen etc. We told the lady who ran the apartments and she said we were at the wrong ones. Luckily our apartments were only nearby and she took us there. When we eventually arrived at our apartments, we were told they had no rooms for us and had no bookings from Travel Republic! We then spent 3 1/2 hours while the lovely lady, her friend from our first apartment and her auntie rang around everywhere in Cavtat to find us accommadation but it seemed every where was full. Eventually they found us somewhere and took us there in their car. We stayed one night in a small aprtment and the next day we moved again to another aprtment, all be it in the same buidling. This was the only apartment left we were told so very lucky to have found it. We booked self-catering but this apartment did not cater for self catering, therefore we had to eat out every day which used all our spending money. Up to this day, we are still waiting for a refund for our accommadation we originally booked after being promised it would be in our account by 31st July, then 3rd August then 6th August and yet still no money has gone in. We had to pay for our other accommadation whilst in Croatia and this has now left us over drawn in our bank. We spoke to Travel Republic last night (6th Aug) and they said they have lost our money and can't refund us until they find out were they have paid the money to. We gave them all our details whilst on holiday and yet they did not pay the money into our account. We can not now get refunded until they sort out from theyre end what has gone wrong. We would NEVER use Travel Republic again and would advise any one not to use them. They have caused so much upset and stress and also lost days on our holiday which should have been a celebration.
