Aaaaarrrghhhhhhhhh! If only I had read these reviews before attempting to buy something through Habitat online.
The delivery partner Habitat uses is evidently totally useless, and could only provide a delivery date (to North London, not the Outer Hebrides) nearly a month after my order (blaming the Olympics for the delays, though as anyone could tell them, most of the streets of London are near-deserted right now). There then followed a series of email exchanges between myself and Habitat's so-called Customer Services, during which I explained that I was not satisfied with this delivery date, and that I could not take the delivery on that date anyway.
Each time Habitat claimed that they had sorted the problem out, and that I should contact the courier again, and each time I did this the courier company said that they could find no delivery arrangement at all for my post code.
My advice would be not to use Habitat online in the first place, but if you have used them and become a victim of theirs and their courier's combined incompetence, then simply threaten to make a Small Claims Court claim (easily done online these days) in order to retrieve your funds.
