“Basic but Friendly”

We stayed during July 2012 and travelled with Olympic Holidays. Transfer to the hotel should have taken 30-40 mins, but in fact took nearly 2 hours due to dropping off and picking up so many people - not impressed with this Olympic Holidays !!
Finally arrived at the hotel only to find our room wasnt ready - had to wait 1.5 hours whilst it was cleaned, hotel said they have no idea what time people are arriving as Olympic Holidays dont let them know ???
Room very basic and on the small side, bathroom was the tiniest we have have ever seen.
Air con at seven euros a day is a must as the rooms get very hot.
For a small hotel we thought the food was fabulous, tasty, well cooked and also hot food was hot and plenty to choose from.
Please be aware especially if you are travelling with children that no food is available between meal times, its not AI as we know it. This hotel is basically full board- with drinks - very very weak alcoholic drinks !
There is a small shop selling snack food, eg crisps sweets, chocolate etc but there are also signs saying you are not allowed to eat goods purchased from the shop by the pool etc - why the heck not???. therefore if you do need a snack in the afternoon, then you have to eat them in your room !!
All in all, a pleasant stay, though hotel is a little bit too remote for us. Also, dont believe the information that tells you the beach is 600m away - its not its about 3km away and a good 40 minute walk.
Friendly family run hotel, excellent food, but the hotel could do with a mini bus service to the beach/town and the cleaning left a lot to be desired - toilets not cleaned properly, mirrors in rooms not cleaned and under beds very dusty.
We got what we paid for, staff are friendly and Rhodes is lovely but I dont think we will be returning to this hotel
