We organised it online. Once that was done, the whole rental process was smooth and as expected.
My only beef is that insurance was organised as a third party deal and if we had had an accident, we would have had to pay the substantial excess and then try and claim that back through the insurance company. The only saving grace is that we returned the car without additional dings!
