We got talked into upgrading from the small car we'd booked, and into taking additional insurance (although our travel insurance was covering this - the salesman said there was no way this ever happened, and we foolishly believed him.)
Along with the extra day's hire we decided on, and the Northern Ireland fee which we were aware of, this made the booking we had made with Nova go from E351 to E850!
Europcar did not just add the extras we agreed to on the spot to the quote we had, they totally rewrote the agreement. We were not given the 20% discount offered by Nova, the 'deposit' we'd paid Nova turned out to be purely a booking fee that was not deductible from the new agreement, and we were charged for the additional driver despite our written quote stating it was already included.
When we queried the charges when returning the car, the saleswoman phoned Nova who also (apparently) said, no the additional driver charges are to be added on.
The car desperately needs a new clutch, too.
Both Nova and Europcar need to sort out their act!
