We were extremely disappointed on arriving at Europcar in liverpool airport and finding that the car we had been given was a volkswagen sharan This as you must know is a seven seater and I had explicitly asked for a eight or nine seater. Your confirmation voucher showed a Hyundai i800 (which is our family car) or similar. As you must understand a Sharan is of less capacity and therefore no good for us. We were a group of 7 adults with luggage therefore our reason for wanting a large car as you specified on your confirmation voucher.
We cannot but speak very highly of the Europcar staff at Liverpool who went out of their way to see if somewhere along the way we were travelling we could swap cars. As it turned out there was a Renault Traffic at Leeds Bradford Airport, but this meant we had to go there to change cars. This took us an extra hour and a half before we got to Scarborough, which was our final destination and what was worse was that my elderly mother in law was travelling with us. My son, who is quite tall had to travel in the backseat with his legs all squashed up and a small suitcase on his lap. My mother, mother-in-law and daughter, seated in the middle also had to carry their handluggage on their laps. This I think is quite unacceptable and what made matters worse was that the lady who answered our call from booking group did not speak proper english, did not have a clue as to what I was asking her and her reply was " if you take car out of parking you pay if you don't you don't pay" !!! what sort of service is this. Its not a matter of me paying or not, its about you helping me out and finding a solution for me!!! I am VERY VERY annoyed at this and hope to hear from you soon. I will most certainly not recommend you to anyone and will surely never book from you again.
