I've been shopping with Asda for just over 4 years now. I prefer Asda over Tesco, i use them both regularly. My fortnightly Asda shopping is always around £10 cheaper than Tesco which actually makes up for them not having a clubcard style rewards system like Tesco does. I just use Tesco when Asda do not have some of the items i want in stock or when their substitutes start to get ridiculous, which they really do at times, i've never had a delivery from Asda without substitutes and once they even ''substituted'' some bathroom scales for an electric pepper mill!... so the biggest problem i have with Asda is the substitutes, they hardly ever mark an item as unavailable when it's out of stock so i always end up with the same items being substituted again and again because i never know if it really is in stock or not.
Another bad point i often encounter with Asda are the Use By dates on the food they deliver to me. Things like bread, ham, fruit and veg, dairy products are out of date just a couple of days after i've had them delivered, it's like they are just trying to get rid of the nearly expired stuff to home delivery customers. If you could pick them in store yourself you would never choose things that are so near the use by date. I always get my shopping delivered the day after ordering so it's nothing to do with that. Also the fruit and veg they give me are tiny, they give me the smallest cucumbers, lettuce, apples and bananas they can find. I feel a bit ripped off with it at times so one star off for value for money.
The thing i really like about Asda is the quality of the food, it's very good and their 'Chosen By You range' is getting bigger and better all the time, i also like the 'Asda Great Stuff' variety of kids food and so does my 2 year old daughter, good quality, simple and healthy.
Never had a problem with their website, everything is easily sorted into Shelf, Brand and Type. Easy to use
The delivery part is OK, they have turned up late a few times but no later than half an hour, once they even came 45 mins early! There was one time where they delivered everything except my frozen stuff, but i phoned customer services and they were friendly, helpful and dealt with it quickly, they arranged the missing items to be delivered to me later on the same day.
That's about it really. Asda will always be my main supermarket to do my shopping, they do have some bad points but so does every other supermarket out there. As long as Asda stay cheaper than it's competitors and their food range keeps growing, i will carry on shopping there and recommend them to anyone.
