“Disabled = third class with Ryanair”

Written on: 05/07/2012 by KHorne (2 reviews written)

As a disabled passenger I would not recommend or fly with Ryanair again.

In a reply from Ryanair asking why I was charged 60 euros for being 3kg over weight at Palma I was informed that the sharing of luggage is strictly not allowed and yet at Palma airport queues were being held up whilst passengers shuffled items between luggage. We had three cases in our party all allowed up to 15kg, one had 12kg, on had 16kg and one has 17kg, a total of 45kg but this is not allowed by Ryanair and with being disabled I was not able to swap items around to even up weight.

I was also denied boarding at Palma with crisps, drinks and sandwiches as part of my cabin allowance and yet everyone else was allowed on and Ryanair have even admitted that you are allowed on.

As a pre-booked disabled passenger on my return from Palma I was not allocated a seat and forced to struggle to the back of the aircraft to find a seat, this after finding out that disabled passengers cannot pre-book advanced boarding.

Ryanair treat disabled passengers like third class citizens.
