“Sealy Sydney.... Don't give up!”

We bought our Sealy Sydney mattress in August 2011 from Benson's beds.
Within a couple of weeks the mattress had dipped on both sides, despite rotation as instructed. We have never experienced such as uncomfortable bed, the dips measured 5cm and as a consequence, we were slleeping at 15 degree angle as we were forced to roll into the middle of the bed!
We complained to Benson's customer service team, who were not only rude, but unable to offer a solution.
Determined not to give up, I contacted trading standards who advised us that the mattress was 'not fit for purpose', so once again I contacted customer services in April 2012. I was asked to send in photographic evidence, the reply was that there was no fault with the mattress. After much argument, I was told to contact the furniture ombudsman to instruct an independent inspection.
Instead, I returned to the store where we had purchased the mattress, which in hindsight, I should have done in the first place!
The store Manager came to inspect the mattress and confirmed that it was faulty. We were offered a replacement, but as there was only one alternative to the Sealy Sydney, we pushed for a refund and have been successful!
To those of you in the same situation, please don't give up, as this mattress is appalling and should be removed from the market.
