“Four star Butlins!”

On arrival at the holiday village at Sarigerme in Turkey we were initially impressed by the hotel, proving first impressions aren't always the best! When booking this all inclusive holiday package we specified three things, a quiet room, upper floor and seperate (sofa) beds for our children. At ten and twelve we feel our boy and girl are to old to share! We found after one night only one was right, the upper floor! After speaking to the first choice rep the next morning we were given separate beds for them. This left the problem of the 'noisy' room. After four days of excuses we were told we could move rooms. After speaking to another rep who put us off moving because the original rep was, in his view, moving us to a noisier part of the hotel we decided not to move. Thank god I took earplugs! I can after two 'long' weeks in this hotel only describe it as a warm version of Butlins!
If you don't mind listening on a daily basis, to foul mouthed mothers swearing at their kids because they are 'hanging' by 11 o'clock at night because they are 'ruining their drinking time' and queing for your food like a school canteen and watching 4, 7 and 9 year old kids being sick because Turkish bar staff keep serving them alcohol then this is the holiday for you!
But in all fairness, compared to the useless staff on Thompson airways who couldn't care less when my poor son was sick on the plane coming home the staff at the village were nice.
Just a final pointer, take English money! First Choice told us Lira was still the prefered way to pay. Rubbish! We came home over £70 worst off by paying in Lira because they charge you 3x the amount to English pounds, (£10 or 30 Lira).
