Cash4phones quoted £104 for my iPhone 3GS 16MB, which was like brand new as I had recently had the screen and case replaced and upgraded to a iPhone 4. I was going to sell the phone privately but thought this would be less hassle. What a joke.
I sent the phone off in one of their flimsy free post envelopes despite my better judgement the day before yesterday. I wrapped the phone in bubble wrap. However, I received an email today saying my phone had 'significant damage' to the casing and they would give me £47. They did give me the option of rejecting the offer though, at the cost of £4.95. So now I have to pay them for the privilege of returning my previously perfect iPhone 3GS with a battered casing, meaning I have to pay to repair a phone that some idiotic employee probably bashed on the side of their desk to avoid paying the original quote.
I am absolutely livid and would say to avoid this company at all costs. This could possibly have been avoids if I had sent the phone recorded delivery, but then that's a tenner down before they've managed to come up with some other measly excuse as to why the original quote wouldn't be offered. Sell privately and avoid these scammers at all costs!
