“Superb flight! superb airline! ”

Flew with Monarch about 16 years ago and was less than impressed, so was a bit apprehensive about using them again but the price and time of the flights were good so we went ahead. So glad we did!! Flying from London Luton to Faro Portugal on Sunday 10th June 2012 and return on Sunday 17th. Arrived at Luton approx 2 hours before the flight, straight to check in, no queues at all. Called to board 30 mins before due to take off, all very quick and easy. We paid the extra and went for extra legroom and also paid for a meal. Aircraft was an Airbus A320. Spotlessly clean and tidy. Extra legroom seats were superb! well worth the money, my partner is 6'2" and was more than comfortable. Took off on time (06:40am)superb flight. Pilot and First Officer kept us well informed of route, time of expected arrival, weather details in Faro etc. Cabin crew, immaculate, friendly and efficient. Airline food is never going to be fine dining but the breakfast was really good. Piping hot, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, mushrooms, baked beans, fruit bag, yoghurt, fresh orange juice and tea or coffee. Drinks service came round after breakfast, didn't purchase anything but heard people say prices were reasonable. Duty free's came round after that, usual products. After a flight time of 2 hours and 30 minutes we had a great landing in Faro. Return flight was just as good. Checked in at Faro with no problems, again, no queue at the desks. Boarded 20 minutes before take off. Airbourne 5 minutes after stated time of 10:20am, again beautifully smooth flight, flown by First Officer Katy. Flight time of 2 hours and 10 minutes. Breakfast was just as good as inbound flight, cabin crew very friendly and efficient. Great landing at Luton. All in all a fantastic experience and would definately fly with Monarch again. Would recommend paying the extra for the extra legroom.
