“Not what they were !”

written by on 19/06/2012

Here in France, we hadn't had a Ginger Nut for a few years. Recently, a large supermarket has started to stock McVities so we bought some.
What I remember about them most is that you could waggle them in a cuppa and not worry about a cup full of biscuit or that you'd end up wearing soggy biscuit as it flopped between cup and mouth. They were the best dunkers around and almost too hard to eat without dunking.
These Ginger Nuts were nowhere near as hard so they were, actually best eaten on their own. Okay, they are still quite good dunkers and the taste was as I remembered but you certainly can't waggle them while you chat.
I'll have to go back to making my own Cornish Fairings with extra ginger. They are rock hard dunkers !
