“booking DIRECT cheaper ”

After booking I checked on the hotel site, which I should have done first and although Booking.com claims there is no booking fee they just added an increase of £20 on top of booking direct with the hotel ..............so CHECK FIRST I will certainly not use Booking.com again!!!!!!!!
