Went on the website, checked the items I wanted were in stock, placed the order, paid. That was 14th May 2012.
First 2 weeks passed with nothing delivered.
Rang the customer service line.
I was told my 2 largest items has actually been out of stock - what ? the website said they were "In Stock".
Then I was told a third of the order would arrive in week 3.
It did.
Week 4 commended - the rest of the order didnt arrive.
Phoned the customer service line again and I was repeatedly talked over by Marie, the french service rep. It took 6 attemtps of asking her name before she gave me half of it - ie Marie.
Then she said the remaining items had been given to the courier on 19th May she found it somewhat strange I was angry they still hadn't arrived.
Her attitude was totally wrong. Defensive, incapable of listening she told me what I should be looking at on the account page which was totally different timelines to what she was quoting.
Again she failed to appreciate how this could anger a customer.
The french have never been famous for their ability to serve and this will be the last time I ever order from that site.
Wonderful furniture, terrible customer experience.
Marie ended up putting the phone down on me.
Way to go for rule no.1 in how to NOT treat a customer Maison Du Monde.
