Been with Sky for around 2 years and not sure why I've persisted so long, but finally had enough now and will be switching to either Virgin or back to BT. The broadband is so unreliable, often losing connection (anything from seconds to several hours), and the phoneline will sometimes go down too. Whenever I ring Sky, the people on the phone are pleasant but have no information and just fob me off, things like "sorry, it's planned maintenance on the exchange" or "it should be back up by 6am", or they might even be totally clueless and try to suggest it might be my equipment (which it never is). They often try to pass the blame to BT and say it's BT engineers that carry out the maintenance etc. and not Sky engineers, but that is crazy as we pay Sky, we don't pay BT and therefore it is Sky's responsibility to provide a good reliable service and they fail to do this. I've spoken to numerous friends and colleagues in my area, everyone who has or has had Sky have reported the same issues, yet everyone with another company has no problems, so why just Sky? If you are considering Sky, forget them, take your business to anyone other than these incompetent rip off merchants.
