“Simply The Best!”

So James Martin is doing ready meals i told Eric,my husband,shall we try some? not knowing what was going to happen after seeing Life,Fork and Spoon for the first time.
First was the difficult descision as to what to order,such a varied choice,dinner boxes,loads of individual items too,something for everyone,from starters to desserts.Also the special prices and free delivery helped but wanted to taste the things we sometimes buy from the supermarket and could compare taste,size,value etc.
Having visited James Martins Leeds Kitchen,we know well his excellent blending of ingredients to make mouth watering dishes there,especially his desserts!!,We wondered this would be possible in this venture,knowing his reputation for good cooking.
Although i use internet for research,i refuse to buy from it so being able to phone an order in was a great relief.Speaking to Kathy was a joy,she took me through the process and has done several times, now its like phoning a friend!! Love the fact you can order before 2 pm for next day delivery or a week ahead..
Delivery is excellent and items well packaged,except for the rose in my Valentines box..it was deceased on arrival!! The packaging can be recycled,wood and heeps wool now line some birds nests and in the compost heap! nothing to waste.
The fact the food can be used at once or frozen..great ,only down side is reading the writing on the packaging, maybe it could be a little larger .
The cooking instructions are very good,easy to understand,even if you forget to take them on holiday!!!!
Now to the taste ,oh my everything is wonderful, particularly the lamb shanks,my OH, was not a lamb lover till he had these ,both the mint and red wine!,to die for.The pies are very generous one being enough for the two of us!and taste fantastic. The desserts are lovely,can't choose a favourite! Would like to taste some of the "family" food items as smaller dishes too.
Although slightly more expensive ,it is well worth it for the quality and taste of the food,restaurant type food in your own home.And the easy cooking means no messy pans!![or even cook in microwave]
I honestly know what to do now without this range of food and it is good to know they are developing new items and dishes all the time .It is exciting to read what they have come up with and what they are likely to be doing.
