I too used lycos for more than 6 years. I noticed sometimes I couldn't log in, but allowed for some down time. I couldn't create folders but thought I was doing something wrong. Now I worked for Verizon and I am an email expert. I finally submitted a ticket after going through the directions carefully. I gave them time to correct the problem on their own. Wrong move!
They sent my ticket back twice! The first time they "restored my folders and emails" meaning the emails I had deleted, they restored! And I deleted old folders that I wasn't using any more! I rejected the ticket, and told them that I needed to have the ability to create new folders and have them show up on my dashboard. Then I got a response that they logged into my account and found nothing wrong. Please try to create more new folders. Of course I tried, and still not working.
I replied, If everything is working why can't I see the folders I created? Please escalate to a supervisor. You didn't read the ticket, and you didn't test the resolution at all. They didn't even try to create a folder. I told them to log into my account and create several new folders and see if they show up. They didn't even test anything! Incompetent, stupid people!
I forwarded all of my emails to g-mail, entered my contacts into g-mail and deleted all of my lycos contacts, deleted all of my lycos folders(old ones), and any mail that came from lycos I either unsubscribed or changed my email address.
I changed my facebook and bank email, and any other accounts. It only took 2 days to have g-mail on everything.
Don't ever use Lycos. Their service never worked, I just put up with it for several years before I decided to do something about it.
Another complaint about Lycos, they allow so much spam to come through it is ridiculous! I've never seen so much spam, and my filters were set as high as they could go. Lycos spam is even worse than AOL. And haven't used AOL in 8 years!
Stay away from Lycos. Use your ISP's email or g-mail.
