“BUYERS BEWARE THIRD COMPLAINT”

Written on: 24/05/2012

I had all my frames and doors replaced by Anglian Home Improvements January 2012. After they had left I noticed that my front door was a different colour and texture from the rest of the frames and doors. It was also drilled around the glass 24 times on the outside and 24 times on the inside. The holes appeared to be plugged and then 'painted' I rang them several times and eventually two men arrived to take off the plugged part of the door. I told them the door was the wrong colour and didnt match the rest of the doors and frames and that I wanted it replacing. I have since discovered that the door is wooden and will require painting (this is why it looks so odd at the side of the PVC frames) The main reason I didnt want wooden frames is that I did not want to have to paint the outside again.I have contacted FENSA but because it is 'cosmetic' they said that they do not deal with this type of complaint. They advised me to contact Trading Standards and it looks that is what I will have to do as they clearly do not intend to replace my door.
