“Air Canada is terrible”

I would not recommend Air Canada to anyone. Fly with WestJet or Porter and you will have a much better experience.

I recently flew to and from Thunder Bay on two flights, WestJet on the way there and Air Canada on the way back. The WestJet flight was better for many reasons. Firstly, the people working for WestJet always seem to be in a good mood every time I fly with them and they always seem to really care that I enjoy my experience with them. On the other hand, the guy on the Air Canada flight threw out my snacks and drink (that I was still eating/drinking) because I was listening to music and didn't answer when he asked if I was done. I said it was no problem, but asked if he could replace them. At first he lied to me saying they were out of Orange Juice, and when I said water was fine, he brought me a warm glass of orange juice with no ice and no snack. But I got over it and told myself I would try any other airline next time. Plus I got free beer on WestJet!

Upon my return home I realized that Air Canada had charged be twice for my 1 flight home. I called customer service and waited 15 minutes before someone answered, which is not surprising of Air Canada because it has always taken at least that long for me to talk to someone when I have called in the past. The guy informed there was nothing he could do but if I emailed their refund services they would take care of it right away. After sending out an email, I then get an automated reply saying it would take up to 4 weeks for them to get around to looking into my refund request. I waited a week hoping something would be done but after receiving nothing I called back. They told me there was nothing to be done and when I asked for the manager I was put on hold for another 25 minutes. I am now starting to think no one is going to answer...

Anyways, fair warning to anyone considering Air Canada for their travel you should stay far away from this airline. Service is bad, customer support is bad and there is very little flexibility to change flights if something happens.
