Rent a van at Sixt to collect some household goods from abroad and get a van which breaks down on the way back (it had NO emergency triangle or kit on board), only to get told, we would have to pay all costs. They did not want to help us get a hotel, so we were left wandering around Paris suburbs at night. Nor did they want to give us placement vehicle or help us get back as soon as possible. Enormously stressful, especially given the fact their van was clearly not serviced properly and not fit for normal purpose! Outrageous!
Customer service? Not at Sixt
I will never rent from them again, and i advise noone to do so if you are venturing a distance from your home or abroad, their assistance when it is needed most, is just not there.
The people on the emerency number were unfriendly and unhelpful.
Customer service is all fine when things go well, but it is when things go wrong they matter most.
