We have stayed twice before at this Travelodge and on our first visit all was fine -on our second visit we had cause to complain to Head Office about the very poor quality of the matresses having read that ALL Travelodge bedding had been updated and we spent a very unpleasent night.Head Offices reply was that we should have complained to the desk as soon as we found the problem. We decided that as the hotel was full there was no chance of getting a better room,so stayed where we were.We decided to give another chance to Travelodge , but wished we hasn't!
Having booked for three people for the night 19/20 May 2012 , we arrived and were given the key to room 13.We entered and the centre light didn't work- the bed was made for two and the third was a settee which had not been made up.The tea making facilities only catered for two.We lifted the kettle to fill with water and discovered that it was filthy, the stand to boil it on was even dirtier-uncleaned for at least a month. Our grandaugher thought she would look at the TV , no control unit. This morning we washed only as the bathroom was filthy as well-mold on the wall tiling, basin with grime around the plug hole and in general decidedly revolting. On leaving this morning my Wife complained at the front desk and was told it would be seen too-so all should be well tonight.
So if you are proposing to stay at Travelodge Amesbury think again first.
