I recently took out a policy with this travel insurance company but had to discover the dubious nature of their organisation the hard way.It is worth noting that they are the first travel insurance company listed in Google with the words '80+ travel insurance cover' - they sure do a good job of taking advatange of the elderly. Their conduct is completely at odds with the appearance of credibility that they present on their site. These are the type of people who wriggle out of any act of benevolence with a load of conniving clauses in the small print. Here is as close to an abridged version of my long & onerous ordeal as I can manage - due to some complications prior to the trip I had to cancel the same day that I purchased the policy. I expected a full refund as was stated to me over the phone that there is a 14 day 'cooling-off' period after purchasing in which you are entitled to your money back. I sent an email requesting a refund 2 hrs after my purchase. The next day i get a call saying the refund cannot be given as there is a clause in their small print that doesn't allow me to qualify for those 14 days - n.b. barely any policy you take out with them comes with a right of refund! Being my age I have lost a significant part of my hearing, making the taking out of the initial policy over the phone difficult. Despite their knowing of my hearing problems through my constant asking of them to repeat what they said, they have now made me a fair bit poorer and very much taken advantage of. Do not touch with an 85-foot barge pole.
