“One Call Car Insurance Lured in to policy by...”

Written on: 14/05/2012 by jre371 (5 reviews written)

I applied for a car insurance policy online via Compare the Market. One Call was not the cheapest but included Full Breakdown Cover and Legal Cover. On checking my details were correct I gave payment details for the quoted price. Once this was complete a page pops up saying the Legal Cover is not the cover normally offered but a minimal version which only covers proven Non-Fault accidents - for normal legal Cover an additional charge of £28 must be paid
A second pop up then states the full breakdown cover will result in a £50 charge for any and each call out. At this point I tried to cancel the policy but there is no option to do so. I then exited the quote with intention of contacting customer services during normal office hours. Customer services LIAM was rude and unhelpful stating a £49 charge had to be paid to cancel even though the policy was not live for another week and the fact that the advertised services were not what was provided was irrelevent. Customer services refused to give any contact email or address stating they were not obliged to do so. Eventually another One Call member agreed not to charge the full £49 but would not refund the £15 deposit they had already taken.

All in all, my advice is avoid One Call as they simply mislead in order to get you in and then hike the price knowing they have your bank details to collect unauthorised funds from you account.
