“Mice have access to clean dishes”

I was horrified to find that mice have access to the inside of the dish drawer through the hot air vent. This is a design fault easily fixed by incorporating a grill over the hot air vent. I should be able to wash the dishes and know that they are clean not find the mouse has been able to get inside the dishwasher and contaminate the dishes for the sake of a simple stainless mesh grill either fixed to or incorporated in the moulded plastic. I actually saw the mouse disappear into the vent.

I called customer care and was told to get an exterminator. This was very unhelpful and non caring. Unless our dishwasher is defective in this regard we will not be the first to have this problem.

We have a country house and cats with a penchant for "live release" in the house.

The problem is with the design of the appliance.
