I spent a few weeks if not months planning my once in a life time honeymoon. We decided on St Lucia and booked way in advance through Virgin Holidays.
A MONTH before our trip I receive a letter stating that the Property is carrying out an extensive "enhancement project" where they plan to build extra villas and refurbish the reception area, breakfast room and most of the tennis courts! The letter concludes that they hope we have an AMAZING time and come back with wonderful memories!!
The last thing I wish to do is spend thousands of pounds on a once in a lifetime honeymoon to be surrounded by Flourescent coats and hard hats from 9-5.
Quite understandably I rang virgin holidays immediately demanding a change in the hotel and this was a true Customer service experience.
To cut the story short, I was passed around various departments and put on repeated holds for over 1hr only to be told that I would have to pay extra for any changes as all the property prices have gone up and there is nothing they could do!
It is absolutely discussing that they want to hold us to ransom like this over a honeymoon we have been looking forward for a long time.
Needless to say, I will never book a holiday or flight with Virgin Again.
Absolutely disgusting customer service !!
