“Talk about Tanzanite City!”

Written on: 03/05/2012

I purchased an Ammonite Ring from Gems, the Ring that the TV presenter demonstrated was Beautiful with lovely Bright colours...reds, blues and greens... so I ordered one. Unfortunately the one that I received was dark and dull, it was basically just dark green with a hint of dark blue and I was very disappointed with it. I didn't send it back as I'd read in other reviews that some customers had returned items with the tags intact, only to be told by Gems CS that the tags had been removed and they'd refused to refund on that basis...I mean..how would one ever prove that the tags were intact when sent back!
Another niggle of mine is that Gems presenters are always claiming that Tansanite is a thousand times rarer than diamond, yet they seem to have enough of it to fill the Albert hall, everytime I flick onto the channel they are peddling Tanzanite, and its such a boring Gemstone, I can't see the attraction with it at all to be honest.
I also find some of the presenters to be annoying and completely OTT with their hard sell tactics, bigging the items up to be something that they're simply not, Lynne Jinx is one of the worse for making the most outrageous claims regarding Gems jewellery, infact it was on her elaboration of the Ammolite quality that I took the plunge and paid almost £200.00 for the Ammolite Ring, I could kick myself for having bought into it.
