I was tempted by the exchange rates on Norwich and Peteborough's Gold Light account so I applied for one. I thought that with two months to go before my holiday that would give me plenty of time for the account to come through.
I was wrong.
By the time I left for my holiday my N and P PIN had still not arrived. This was after an extremely testing two months of dealing with the most atrocious customer service I have ever received from a bank. On the plus side, N and P take security quite seriously, but this just slowed the process down even more as they were constantly demanding additional proofs for ridiculous reasons and completely messing up the response. Such a high level of security only works with staff who are competent and N and P's staff are not - they even managed to spell yahoo wrong in my email address!
An absolutely turtuous application process which was ultimately wasted as I didn't receive my card PIN in time.
