“Apparently being down-graded is classed as a faulty seat!”

Written on: 19/04/2012

I paid British Airways for two tickets to Antigua. The return journey was 1st class - a really special treat for us. However, due to BA's policy of over-booking, we were downgraded and had to sit within view of the seats we should have had, watching other people enjoying 'our dream', which was deeply upsetting.

I wrote to BA and got a letter today saying that 2 BA travel vouchers were enclosed at £375 each as a gesture of goodwill for a "faulty seat". A faulty seat??! No vouchers were enclosed, but I wouldn't have wanted them anyway.

I am still pursuing a cash refund as we were not given what we were sold.
