“Chichester: unpleasant and distant”

Bought a purse and looked for a handbag. Assistant in department could not be bothered. When I asked for help opening a handbag clasp, she opened it with a look (and a sigh) of exasperation. She threw a number of handbags into a reduced items box that I was rummaging through - it was very clumsy. When I bought the purse, she again couldn't have been more distant.

Late on a Saturday afternoon, there were next to no other customers so this assistant wouldn't even have the defense of being buzy - just bored.
