I have my eyes fully tested every year by D & A, Irvine, Scotland, now part of Boots Opticians. As I am a Type 2 diabetic, this is a very comprehensive test, paid for by the NHS, to monitor any deterioration in my eyes.
I have used cheap, off-the-shelf, reading glasses for years, without any abnormal deterioration in my sight. This time I wanted designer specs.,that could not be destroyed by my grandchildren The solution is titanium frames. The titanium frames on sale at D&A (Boots)were old fashioned and expensive at £169 a pair. So popped along to Tesco, Kilmarnock, with my prescription, what an "eye opener".
2 pairs designer Titanium 1/2 frames, BOGOF, for £99.
Got a call 3 days later, to pick up specs, and they were personally fitted in the shop. They even laughed at some of my crappy jokes! That's customer service!! 5 star service throughout.
Highly recommend for the purchase of prescription reading glasses.
