We took a flight to las vegas, two hour delay as flight from Montego bay was late getting in.
One hour on the tarmac at Las Vegas airport as customs could not cope with the capacity.
one and a half hours at American customs
These delays are unavoidable and I understand these issues are not the fault of Virgin.
What is there fault is the unfriendly cabin crew who seem to think that customers are an inconvenience. The cabin crew supervisor stated at the beginning of the flight that alcohol would be refused to anyone who appeared intoxicated, this should be re-worded to one drink only per customer so dont bother asking for any more. i asked for an extra class of wine and was told flatly NO as there policy was now one drink per customer.
The toilets were absolutely disgusting on the flight, i wont go into detail but i have been to third world countries with cleaner toilets, i mentioned this to a member of the cabin crew and was told it was not their job to clean toilets and that i could always clean it myself.
Tried to contact Virgin toll free number from the states to upgrade my ticket took 4 calls hanging on for over half an hour, i was told i had the wrong type of ticket to upgrade as i had payed the lowest fare. Virgin website had advertised this 'low fare' and why would anyone pay a higher charge if they can get a lower price fare. The flying club is a big con, you want to use your miles forget it,the annoying thing is that i spoke with a passenger who doesn't even belong to flying miles club and she was upgraded.
We could not book our seats online 24 hours before hand, guess why? because they want to make more money out of you. My seat was assigned 20 rows from my husband and we were told that if we wanted to sit together we would have to pay, this cost me $120 and they were the same seats we had going out to the U.S. that i had booked online in the U.K.
