“I've had my "Morphy Richards 47505 Roma Pump" machine...”

Written on: 08/09/2009

I've had my "Morphy Richards 47505 Roma Pump" machine for well over five years now and it's still producing amazing coffee.

It's a very well built machine, especially considering that it only cost £99 when I bought it and had a 2 year warranty. These days they are all made from plastic for that price.

The pump is your standard Italian-made 15bar unit and is a little noisy, but more than sufficient with regards to pressure. The boiler is sturdy and steams up really fast for almost instant coffee making, and the steam attachment works very well.

It weighs a tonne as you can imagine (it's all metal), and the water tank is a good size. Drip tray is large, but coffee left inside will erode the metal (be warned). Comes with portafilters, filter holder, coffee measure, froth nozzle, but no jug!

Be careful as some pre-ground espresso will block it (such as Illy). Best to grind coffee yourself. Easy to use, easy to clean, good looking, simple and a great price. Shame they don't make it anymore.

I love my 47505, and I will continue to love it for many years to come.
