Did you know that Lloyds are able to close your account unilaterally if they so choose? Are you also aware that their complaints department is under no obligation to hear your side of the story if you have a complaint?
I had a very bad experience with Lloyds that left me high and dry despite being solvent and in good shape financially and being a customer for over 20 years. I'd like to think it was an isolated case and that other SMEs are getting better treatment. Sadly, the statistics published by the FSA suggest I'm far from being the only one.
I've spent the last few years working in Asia and Australia and the banking system here really is fantastic by comparison, so it obviously can be done.
So, great if you're in Asia, but what about UK business? What choices are there?
