Just spent 40 mins with call centre adviser and his manager to try to put my son in law on our car insurance for 4 days when they will use our car for a weekend break. Understand the need to disclose convictions, accidents, profession etc. They asked for minute detail of an accident 5 years ago - where exactly was the damage, bearing in mind the other party admitted liability. When we explained we could not get the info just now as my son in law was on the football pitch coaching my 7 year old grandson's football team we were asked a barrage of questions relating to him coaching. We explained this was voluntary and had nothing to do with their weekend away. Still more questions, even from the manager. Definitely changing to another insurer when it's renewal time.
It's worth noting that we had called a few weeks ago fora quote but at that stage couldn't confirm dates. We were asked the standard questions another all took 15 mins.max.
