“I sure wish I would have checked up on Dooleys beforehand!”

This car rental company was recommended to me by Dublin Tourism. Not only were we shocked at their service at the time we picked up the car, I am not any more impressed with their attitude when I got home and complained. But now I know why - the threat of posting negative comments regarding them is clearly just a drop in the bucket as I see there are negative comments all over the internet!!! We were hoodwinked into taking their insurance at an additional and unplanned extra cost of 453 euros because of the hidden cost of 3,000 euros being charged to our credit card which we were unwilling to allow. We are on vacation - who in their right mind would have such a block on their credit card. The response from Mr. Doooley is that a) it says right in their terms that such a charge was possible (it says a charge in the amount of excess insurance and a fuel charge which is incomprehensible since the fuel is fully paid by us and they are already making a killing by charging us on arrival and then reaping the reward of what is left in the tank!) No amount is specified and not only do I see maximums of 2,000 euros on other sites I also see in the complaints that the amounts varies from person to person. I have yet to see anyone being charge 3,000 euros!!! So clearly it depends on the day to boot. DO NOT RENT FROM DAN DOOLEYS - THEY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU ON SO MANY LEVELS AND WHEN YOU COMPLAIN THEY BLAME THE THIRD PARTY THAT WAS NICE ENOUGH TO RECOMMEND THEM. I would absolutely have shopped around and found a place more easily accessible, with a more pleasant clerk at their desk and a car service to your rental car that doesn't come with a hand out yet again for a tip for this service!!! Do not be fooled by seeming low prices. Dooley's will find a way of charging you far more than you expect!!!
