“This POS Sends You To Therapy!”

written by on 09/03/2012

Bought a Ryobi RBCGM25BB 25 cc with bike handles $ 299 - tested my patience to the limit.

Bought it from Bunnings (big Ryobi fan boys). Pretty much from the word go and over the next few months:

- difficult to start
- poor idling out of the box - would often cut off/stall when idling to warm up
- very difficult or impossible to re-start after stalling
- when idling you would only have to look at it and it would stall LOL
- would often stall when you give it juice with the throttle then a nightmare to restart

Finally got the shites with it today took it back to Bunnies [sic] for a credit (don't lose your docket). Iwould have gone down the road and bought elsewhere otherwise.

Bought a little Victa Tornado for $179. Great little unit. More power than the Ryobi POS, quieter, idles beautifully, responsive, lighter than the Ryobi, better balanced starts well. Has an alloy cutting head (non-auto feed).

BTW had a look at a Homelite cheapy for $149 and it had the IDENTICAL starting instructions sticker as the Ryobi POS. So Ryobis are pretty much overpriced cheap Chinese crap.

Avoid Ryobi like the plague.

Spend $10 and get a Choice review or check out reviews on the 'Net.
